Privacy Policy

The Kintsugi Collective is a private, invite-only mutual-aid community. This page explains, in plain language, what information exists here and what happens to it.

What we collect

Account: when you sign in with Google we store your email address and name. We never see your Google password.

Profile: everything on your profile — display name, photo, location, bio, specialties, contact methods, social links, and an optional payment link — is provided by you, and you can edit or remove it at any time.

Activity: help requests, messages inside a request thread, and who invited whom. Notifications you receive are stored so your inbox works.

Who can see what

Full profiles — including contact methods, social links, and exact location — are visible only to signed-in, active members. If your profile is set to public listing, logged-out visitors see a limited teaser: name, region, specialties, and photo — never your contact details, exact city, socials, or payment link.

Your contact methods are revealed to another member only after one of you accepts the other's help request. Message threads are visible only to the two participants.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't run ads or ad trackers. We use cookies only to keep you signed in. The platform never processes money — payment links go directly to services you chose to list.

Services we rely on

Hosting and image storage run on Vercel; the database runs on Neon; notification emails are sent through Resend; sign-in is handled by Google. Each processes data only to provide those functions.

Emails

We send notification emails about activity that concerns you (requests, messages, invites). Every type can be turned off in notification settings.

Deletion

Want your profile or account gone? Email hello@thekintsugicollective.com and it will be removed, including your photo from storage.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, members will be notified. The latest version always lives at this address.
